#JEDunn’s Centennial giving campaign, “Building a Legacy: A Century of Generosity,” continues with Wichita Children’s Home. Founded in 1888 as the city’s first orphanage to “support and care for destitute and homeless children.” Today, the home offers the only 24/7 emergency, temporary, residential care for children from birth to 22 years of age in foster homes or shelters in the Wichita community.

The grant will aid in the construction of a new facility for their comprehensive bereavement programming, Kidzcope, designed to cater to the specific needs of children who have experienced trauma and grief due to the death, separation, or loss of a loved one. Kidzcope aims to help children comprehend the depth of their grief, express their emotions, facilitate healing, cherish memories, and find personal empowerment as they cope with the biopsychosocial changes arising from the death, separation, or loss of a loved one. Thank you to Wichita Children’s Home for their positive impact on the Wichita community.

Stay tuned for more surprise celebrations with our remaining Building a Legacy winners throughout the year! #InspiredPlaces #JEDunnBuildingALegacy #JEDunnGivesBack #JEDunnCentennial
