Manufacturing Success: JE Dunn Industrial & Manufacturing Impacts Local Communities

JE Dunn’s Industrial & Manufacturing team is responsible for building manufacturing facilities that produce a wide variety of items – from paper products to electric vehicle batteries. With a century-long legacy, JE Dunn has continuously expanded its expertise in industrial and manufacturing projects.

During World War II in 1943, John Ernest (Ernie) Dunn made a pivotal decision: he built the Kansas City Quartermaster Depot at-cost, returning all profits to the federal government. This landmark project earned praise from President Franklin D. Roosevelt and marked JE Dunn’s entry into the industrial space. Since then, the company’s commitment to smart and sustainable growth has remained unwavering.

“The momentum continued to build over the years as we grew the industrial team and scaled the work program with larger and more complex projects,” JE Dunn Industrial & Manufacturing Market Leader Brent Strength said. “Smart and sustainable growth has always been the goal, and it will continue to be going forward.”

As a part of JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG), the industrial team can scale to support projects of any size in nearly any location. AFG provides dedicated leadership, shared resources, technical experts, and best-in-class knowledge sharing and planning.

JE Dunn-built industrial facilities have a significant impact on communities, often creating hundreds of new jobs. For instance, LG Chem’s multi-billion-dollar investment in a new EV battery cathode manufacturing plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, will bring over 850 new jobs. The team’s expertise spans various industries, including distribution, dairy processing, automotive, architectural fabrications, consumer goods, and advanced technology.

Today, JE Dunn Industrial & Manufacturing’s experience covers a breadth of industries, some of which include distribution, dairy processing, automotive, architectural fabrications, and advanced technology. Their unmatched communication and authenticity make them a steadfast partner and easy choice in any sector, allowing for smooth processes that easily bring these large-scale projects into reality.

YKK AP America, a leader in commercial façade systems and residential windows and doors, recently partnered with JE Dunn for a window and door manufacturing facility in Macon, Georgia. Oliver Stepe, YKK AP President and CEO, emphasized the value of JE Dunn’s process when choosing a general contractor.

“It wasn’t a tough decision, quite frankly,” Stepe said. “It wasn’t just a development team coming to do a pitch; we were actually able to meet with the people who were going to run our project, which was very helpful.”

Moving forward, JE Dunn’s Industrial & Manufacturing team remains committed to supporting U.S. manufacturing, contributing to a strong and stable market sector. Leveraging 100 years of construction experience, they continue to shape communities through their impactful work.
